Kirk Lowery
"Through my music, massage, and art, my hands are able to communicate in ways my mouth can't. Now I find that I need to somehow explain my art in words'."

Kirk Lowry is an "original" artist. Above all else, he prefers that his artwork is considered unique. He loves to hear things like "I've never seen anything like that", or "how did you do that?" especially from fellow artists.

The utilization of various pigments and acrylic resin on canvas combine to produce the unique effects he achieves in his work. Recent work has been honored with an award from the Ojai Art Center Summer Festival.

The materials he uses dictate abstracts. Abstracts inspire vision. Vision involves the viewer with the painting. Through color and line, a lot can be said and felt. Kirk has watched viewers of his work experience a wide range of emotions, including tears.

"....definitely not an emotion I was trying to evoke, yet there it was. It's just hard to explain in words".

Kirk has worked in various mediums and artistic forms over the years, including painting, stained glass, paper mache, wax, tile, fabric and soft sculpture. His artistry and creativity have been expressed in the form of candle making, custom bedspreads, handcrafted furniture and finishes, custom interior and exterior design elements, as well as set design for the production of Alice in Wonderland.

He is an artist who has work mostly for himself and his own fulfillment, but now feels the need to share his work with others.
