Iris was born and raised in Ojai, California. Art has been a lifetime love. As a shy child, she found art to be a means of expressing herself.

Art is a language of its own. I have used it my whole life to say things I couldn't with words. I paint to express my truth. I am currently transitioning from painting things that define me to painting things that that work out unanswered questions.

Oil paintings, mosaic work, and paper mache are her favorite mediums, although just about everything she touches becomes a project in art.

Iris shares her home and studio, Sticky Fingers Studio, with her husband and fellow artist, Kirk Lowry. It is there, both at home and in the studio, where many of their art projects are a collaborative effort. Together they designed and created their own, very unique, little one room hotel – "Suite 1 Inn Ojai". The entire room is a work of art.

Iris also teaches art to children and adults.

My favorite thing is to see a shy child come to take art classes and watch them bloom with self confidence as their creativity emerges.
